“Light Milk” was inspired by a group brainstorm by the whole team. We wanted her to be obviously a part of our organization and as such she has “photo bombed” a number of our staff photos with her power-points and electrical sparks on display. We regularly dress her to commemorate special days e.g Anzac day, Red Nose Day. We enjoyed working with the talented artist Mark Davidson to create a cow who is obviously ours while adding her own brand of creativity to the Morrinsville “Herd of Cows?”.
LIGHT MILK
Mark Davidson
Artist
Mark has had a long career as a craft-based artist, working with flat and 3 dimensional flat glass in Auckland during the 1980's. Along side his designs, he also assisted in the production of numerous large scale stained glass commissions for several leading designers at the time. The early 1990's saw him working as an art consultant in Auckland, placing contemporary NZ art in the corporate sector, and developing the popular art rental market.
Following on from this, while travelling overseas, he discovered the ancient art of pebble mosaic, and for almost 10 years, pursued this with a passion, producing many private and public commissions in NZ, England and the USA.
His art practice always went hand in hand with passing on skills to others, so teaching always featured strongly.
He is currently employed as a picture framer in Hamilton, but still dabbles in painting and design.
