We had the cow painted in the same company colours as our redi mix trucks. We went for an industrial look with a concrete bowl painted around the stomach with panels, rivets, an exhaust and number plate. The cow looks great situated outside work when the concrete trucks are parked up in the afternoon behind it.

Elizabeth Mertens
Artist
Elizabeth Mertens studied at the Dunedin School of Art in the 70’s majoring in Sculpture. She now works mainly with clay however likes to incorporate other mediums such as painting into her work. Nature, history, museums and mans’ relationship with the world we live in are major influences. She has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions and has been a finalist in several National awards including The Portage Ceramic Awards in 2014 and 15, winning People’s Choice Awards in 2014 and Waiclay Awards 2015. Her work can be found in both private and public collections both her and overseas. Elizabeth is now based in Tokoroa in the South Waikato.
